Hello!

Welcome to ReFind Design, eco-friendly jewelry designs and classes.

HUGE Announcement!

Back in June I applied to be an instructor at the Bead and Button show. At the beginning of this month I found out I was accepted!!! In case the excess of exclamation points wasn't a dead giveaway, I'm thrilled about the news.

Not familiar with Bead and Button? What are you waiting for? It is the largest bead show in the US. There are literally hundreds of classes and a huge vendor show. The catalog comes out right around Christmas, and every year I pour over it like a little kid with the Toys 'R' Us (in my case, usually the Sears) holiday catalog, scouring every page for the perfect classes. I come up with a wish list of $3,000+ and 8 days worth of classes I NEED to take. Then I dig into my piles of money, take off 2 weeks from work, and sign up! Yeah...I wish. No, I revise and revise and revise until I come up with the perfect class schedule. It's a 2 week process that I look forward to every winter.

Now, I get to be part of that process for thousands of people! So, want to know what I'm teaching? Of COURSE you do! Here's the schedule:

Art Clay Crane Sampler  (B142181)

Wednesday, June 4          4:00-7:00pm
In three hours you will learn a variety of metal clay techniques including how to use 2 types of Art Clay (regular clay type and paper clay), how to torch fire, kiln fire, and finish pieces. We will start by learning to fold an origami crane using paper clay. While the cranes fire in the kiln we will create simple earrings with the regular clay to be torch fired. These stunning pieces are surprisingly simple and are sure to wow everyone you meet.

Recycled Resin (B142182)

Friday, June 6               5:00-8:00pm
This class will cover all things re/upcycled. We will be using UV resin to create pieces on a variety of recycled items including dominos, scrabble tiles, bingo numbers, puzzle pieces, poker chips, and more. These projects combine eco-friendly design with your personal aesthetic to create truly one-of-a-kind pieces.

Bohemian Button Bracelet (B142184)

Sunday, June 8              9:am-noon
Metal clay meets mold making! Vintage buttons are the inspiration for this fun, elegant, and funky bracelet. Students will choose from a variety of button options to create reusable silicone molds and design their perfect bracelet. We will also cover how to flush set stones in clay and how to use embeddable jump rings.

You can check out my class list here. Registration opens January 7. I hope you will consider signing up for one (or all) of my classes. I would love to see you in Milwaukee!
