Why “ReFind” Design?

Elegant jewelry made from reclaimed items = Re-Find

One of my goals as an artist is to be as eco-friendly as possible. Almost all of the art I create uses recycled materials. I love to trying to give new life to old objects, or finding new purpose for things that are unusable.

About the artist

Sarah Bober graduated from St. Olaf College with a major in fine arts. She began making jewelry in 2008 and has been selling her work at art shows ever since. She specializes in Art Clay, a clay form of silver, and resin designs. She incorporates many recycled elements into her pieces including scrabble tiles and dominos. All of her jewelry is personally designed and hand crafted in her studio in St. Paul.

In addition to making jewelry Sarah enjoys teaching classes. She is a Level One certified Art Clay instructor working toward her Senior Level certification. She teaches locally at the Edina Art Center and MN Landscape Arboretum. She also teaches every year at the Bead and Button show, the largest bead show in the world, in Milwaukee, WI.

About Sarah and her process:

I'm an absolute class junkie. I will take classes on anything and everything -- I never know what will inspire me so I'm always trying out something new. I have taken classes with some of the most well know instructors in the jewelry world and have collected the best tips and techniques to share with my students. When you take a class with me you are benefiting from my years of education from jewelry masters.

I have always been a creative person, but it is only recently that I have begun to think of myself as an artist. I find designing unique pieces challenging and rewarding. Every piece is made with the utmost care and attention to detail.  I'm a perfectionist by nature, and I like to take time with each design to make sure it is as "artistically perfect" as possible. As much as I love creating, I would feel like something was missing if I could not teach. I am a teacher by trade, and have been doing some form of instruction for most of my life. I am truly passionate about helping others learn new techniques. There is nothing better than a successful class with students who feel confident and excited about what they have accomplished.
